Dr. Rosalin Miles (nee Hanna) has practiced consulting as an academic and specialist with the Federal and Provincial government, mainstream organizations, First Nation and Aboriginal organizations, and with individuals.
She provides consulting services by developing a relationship to determine the client’s needs. Then develops a plan to assist the client to achieve their goals in education, health, or physical activity.
There are a variety of consulting services available from project or event management relating to education, health, fitness, recreation or sports. Rosalin enjoys report writing that may include data collection analysis, research reviews, or briefs. As well, she is an experienced and enthusiastic keynote address speaker and workshop facilitator.
During the last five years, Rosalin has been employed in the Aboriginal community. She has built her reputation as an educator, project leader, and trainer throughout Canada. Prior to this she worked in the sports, recreation and fitness field for twenty-two years as a coach, kinesiologist, therapist, and instructor.
Her main areas of expertise are: Aboriginal health, education, and promotion of physical activity.

The following workshops are available to be hosted in your Aboriginal community:
Healthy Living Challenge
* Learn how to develop a healthy living challenge in your community that incorporates a variety of health, fitness, nutrition, and traditional wellness goals.
Fitness Program Design for Fitness Leaders in Aboriginal Communities
* Fitness leaders learn how to develop individualized fitness programs based on sound training principles to meet unique health and lifestyle goals for community members.
Cardiorespiratory Fitness Program Design for Aboriginal People with Chronic Disease
* For Health workers in remote communities or community members with chronic disease, learn how to design a fitness program. There will be a review of; health screening, respiratory and circulatory systems, target heart rates, blood pressure, and blood glucose as related to fitness programs and goals in relation to cancer, diabetes, and heart disease.
Fitness Program Design for Aboriginal Fitness Participants
* Community members are invited to establish fitness goals and to commit to a program with a fitness leader. The program design workshop could target the needs and fitness goals of Elders, Women, youth, people with special needs, or athletes.
Sports Performance
* Learn how to develop a program for your sport or competition. Principles of strength, power, and endurance training will be reviewed in relation to warm ups, stretching, agility, speed, plyometric training, and recovery activities.
Corporate Health and Wellness in Aboriginal Organizations
* Learn to develop corporate policies and practices within your band office, business, or community that supports staff or community members to be physically active, eat nutritiously, and incorporate traditional wellness activities in their work days.
Body Systems related to Fitness
* Review or learn about the structural systems (skeleton muscles, and joints) and how they work together in physical activity. This workshop is a great review of health and fitness workers.
Body Movement, Posture, Stabilization, and Flexibility
* Review and learn the principles of movement in relationship to the biomechanics of your skeleton, muscles, joints, and nervous system when in movement, stretching or stabilization.
How to Organize a 5k Run
* Learn how to develop a 5k run in your community. Learn step by step how to select the route, recruit volunteers, promote the event, and include all community members.
Workshop Facilitator
Dr. Rosalin Miles (nee Hanna) is a member of Lytton First Nation. She has her doctorate in Education, specializing in Exercise Science, she is a professional kinesiologist, and she is a National award winning strength and conditioning specialist where she has trained and treated Olympic level athletes. In addition, she has competed as an athlete at the National level in three different countries and within three different sports.
Her vision is to empower and encourage First Nations people of all ages, abilities, and genders to be regularly physically active to contribute to the development of holistic health, and to assist in the prevention of disease in our communities and families.
